Teaching Focus while heeling Lesson one

From time to time, even the most talented trainer wonders if he is doing enough to make a difference in his client dog's behaviors.  And every so often, a dog and handler show up and make amazing gains in focus immediately, proving that yes, the trainer's coaching ability shows in the quick progress displayed each week by talented dogs and their owners.

This is the first lesson we have done regarding focus of dog on handler.  There are no distractions at hand and the owner is using food first as a lure to get head position and then as a reward when dog has head in proper position.

The proper hand placement is so important in this lesson and from the video, you can see that he and Dieter the dog did a great job.
